Iowa Assessments
IOWA Assessments
Administered to students in grades K-7, results on the IOWA Assessments are utilized by Queen of Angels Catholic School to inform annual goals, guide professional development efforts, and as an indicator for the pursuit of continuous improvement.
Data from the administration of the IOWA allows administration and faculty to monitor student performance over time for individuals and groups. Results provide feedback as to the degree in which students are working to potential and have mastered core learning standards. Research from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, the publisher, offers established benchmarks for comparison that can predict college and career readiness.
The Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Recognition requires the submission of the results of the IOWA as criteria for this designation. Queen of Angels was recognized in 2007 and has reapplied during the 2018-2019 school year.
