Queen of Angels Catholic School continues to celebrate its 20th year of excellence by commemorating the date of September 7th, the first day of school in 1999. This momentous occasion began with a celebratory Mass at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church with Bishop Joel Konzen as the Principal Celebrant. The school expressed appreciation to Monsignor Peter Rau, Monsignor Frank McNamee, Father Brian Bufford, Father Ray Cadran, Father Paul Burke, and Father Bob Fredrick, concelebrants, each of whom have been part of the rich history of Queen of Angels. Deacon Scott Sparks, an active member of the Advisory Committee, was thanked for his involvement in the school and his beautiful homilies at our school Masses. The school welcomed back two former principals, Dr. Kathy Wood and Mrs. Molly Carlin, who returned to the delight of the past and present members of the QA community. The offertory gifts were presented by current staff members who have been with Queen of Angels since the founding of the school.

The festivities continued after Mass with a community block party. Families were entertained by a live band, food trucks, and 20 years of archival materials.  Alumni, past and present families, faculty, and staff had a wonderful time looking through 20 years of yearbooks, newspaper articles, handbooks, and school programs. The evening concluded with families lighting candles and passing the light to signify a commitment that, as a community, the light of Christ will be preserved and spread to future generations as we embark on the next 20 years of excellence.
