Spiritual Life
|
Queen of Angels Catholic School is committed to upholding our mission statement, which proclaims that we are a Christ-centered community built on Gospel values, and that we empower all to lead faith-filled lives. We make every effort to see that our faith is integrated into every area of school life. In addition to religion classes, we bring the Light of Christ into our school through the activities listed below. Some of these activities are links to pages containing additional information about the spiritual life at Queen of Angels Catholic School.
Lenten Service Project
Lenten Women's Retreat
Seasons of Holiness - February
Each month, we will provide a link for the current NCEA online newsletter. This is a wonderful
opportunity to enrich our faith with information and activities that coincide with the Liturgical Year.

| Daily Prayer |
Prayer is one of the cornerstones of our Catholic faith and students at Queen of Angels Catholic School are taught the virtue of prayer on a daily basis. The school day begins and ends with prayer and students are given other opportunities throughout the day to pray (e.g. special intentions, class prayers, prayer hallway, Grace Before Meals, etc.) The morning and afternoon prayers are related to a theme that changes monthly.
|
|
| School Masses |
An integral part of Catholic faith formation is regular attendance at Mass. The entire school celebrates Mass each Friday with the exception of weeks containing a Holy day or other special occasions. Students are responsible for ministerial roles during these Masses.
All Masses are held at Saint Peter Chanel Catholic Church which is adjacent to the school.

|
| Certified Catechists |
All religion teachers are required to become certified catechists in the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
|
|
| Sacramental Preparation |
Second grade students are prepared for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist in their religion classes. However, students receive the sacraments in their home parishes.
As with the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist, Confirmation is administered in the home parish. Contact your parish office regarding enrollment in Confirmation preparation classes.

|
| Parish Connections |
Queen of Angels Catholic School students come from sixteen parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta. It is important for us to maintain connections with each of these parishes and its priests. We work to involve the priests in a variety of activities at Queen of Angels catholic School. |
|
| Retreats |
Eighth grade students participate in a three-day class retreat in the fall of each school year. Sixth and Seventh grade students participate in a one-day retreat. The retreats will focus on students becoming closer to God and to each other. |
|
| Staff Spirituality |
The staff comes together as a faith family in prayer services and retreats throughout the school year. |
|
| SpiritualLife Committee |
This committee of volunteer parents works with the Religious Education Coordinator to meet the needs of the school in nine specific areas of spirituality: Spiritual Angels, Service Projects, Sunshine, Moms in Touch Prayer Group, Catholic Schools Week, Para-liturgical needs, E-Pray, Elijah Cup, and a Celebration for First Communicants. |
