Servin’ Up …….. Waste Free Wednesdays

Students are being encouraged to eliminate the waste from school lunches.  Please consider packing cloth napkins, reusable containers for food and water, as well as reusable utensils.  For students purchasing lunch, the cafeteria staff will have cloth napkins and metal utensils on hand. (Thanks for the help, cafeteria team!)  Although recycling the plastic water bottles is a start, the goal is to use containers that are reusable rather than recycled.

Waste Free Wednesdays began on January 20th, 2010, and will run every other Wednesday until Earth Day (April 22nd).  Waste Free Wednesdays are scheduled for 2/3, 2/17, 3/3, 3/17, 3/31, and 4/14.  After Earth Day, Waste Free Wednesday will become a weekly event!

“Waste Free” doesn’t have to be limited to Wednesday!  Help Mom or Dad pack your lunch with reusable containers every day.
